Declaración conjunta

1. Ministers of Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, the United Kingdom and Viet Nam, Parties of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), and Costa Rica welcomed the substantial conclusion of the negotiations for the accession of Costa Rica to the CPTPP.

2. The Accession Working Group (AWG) and Costa Rica confirmed the means by which Costa Rica will comply with the existing rules contained in the CPTPP. The AWG also confirmed that Costa Rica has provided commercially meaningful market access offers of the highest standard on goods, services, investment, financial services, government procurement, state-owned enterprises and temporary entry for business persons. The CPTPP Parties have confirmed or submitted, respectively, their market access commitments to Costa Rica.

3. The AWG will continue working with Costa Rica to prepare and verify the legal instrument of accession, with the aim of formalising the conclusion of the process in a timely manner, consistent with the CPTPP Accession Process and the domestic procedures of each CPTPP Party and Costa Rica.

4. The CPTPP Parties and Costa Rica are committed in further promoting free trade, open and competitive markets, the rules-based trading system and economic integration in the region and beyond.

DECLARACIÓN MINISTERIAL CONJUNTA SOBRE EL PROCESO DE ADHESIÓN DE COSTA RICA AL CPTPP (versión no oficial)

1. Los ministros de Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canadá, Chile, Japón, Malasia, México, Nueva Zelanda, Perú, Singapur, el Reino Unido y Vietnam, Partes del Acuerdo Integral y Progresista de Asociación Transpacífico (CPTPP), y Costa Rica saludaron la conclusión sustancial de las negociaciones para la adhesión de Costa Rica al CPTPP.

2. El Grupo de Trabajo sobre la Adhesión (AWG) y Costa Rica confirmaron los medios por los que Costa Rica cumplirá con las reglas existentes contenidas en el CPTPP. El AWG también confirmó que Costa Rica ha presentado ofertas de acceso a mercados comercialmente significativas y del más alto nivel en materia de bienes, servicios, inversión, servicios financieros, contratación pública, empresas propiedad del Estado y entrada temporal de personas de negocios. Las Partes del CPTPP han confirmado o presentado, respectivamente, sus compromisos de acceso a los mercados con Costa Rica.

3. El AWG seguirá trabajando con Costa Rica para preparar y verificar el instrumento jurídico de adhesión, con el objetivo de formalizar la conclusión del proceso de manera oportuna, de conformidad con el proceso de adhesión al CPTPP y los procedimientos internos de cada Parte del CPTPP y de Costa Rica.

4. Las Partes del CPTPP y Costa Rica se comprometen a seguir promoviendo el libre comercio, los mercados abiertos y competitivos, el sistema comercial basado en normas y la integración económica en la región y más allá de ella.
