Entry of foreigners into Peru increased 2.6% in the first quarter of 2026

The National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI), informed that according to information provided by the National Superintendency of Migration, during the first quarter of 2026, the entries of foreigners into the country reached 1 062 266, higher result by 2.6% compared to the same period of 2025.
The chief of the INEI, Dr. Gaspar Morán Flores stated that according to the specify that in the technical report Peru: Migratory Movement of International Entries and Exits, most foreigners that entered Peru were mean by totalizing 555,047 movements, which meant an increase of 2.3% compared to the first quarter of the year 2025. Meanwhile, the entry of foreign women reached 507,219, representing an increase of 3.0% compared to the last year, he added.
From the total of foreigners that entered the Peruvian territory in the first three months of the year, 52.3% were men and 47.7% were women.
Chile was the main country of provenance of foreigners that entered the country
During the period under analysis, 40.0% of foreigners that entered the country were coming from Chile, 11.2% from United States of America, 9.5% from Ecuador, 7.2% Colombia and Bolivia (in each case), 4.6% from Spain, 4.4% from Brazil and 3.9% Panama, countries that concentrated 88.0% of the total of entries of foreigners to Peru.
52.0% of foreigners that entered the country have between 30 and 59 years old
During the first quarter of 2026, from the total of entry movements of foreigners, 52.0% are between 30 and 59 years old, 20.6% older adults (60 years old and over), 18.8% young people of 15 and 29 years old, and 8.6% are underage of 15 years old.
Most foreigners entered the country through the immigration check posts of Jorge Chávez International Airport
Between the months of January and March of 2026, the main migratory control post of entering movements of foreigners coming from abroad was through the Jorge Chavez International Airport with 539,785 movements, followed by Santa Rosa in Tacna with 331,123 incomes; which together concentrated the 82.0% of entry movements of foreigners to Peru.
Exit of foreigners of the country increased by 1.9%
During the first quarter of 2026, the exit movements of foreigners from the country totalized 1 079 934, a higher result greater in 1.9% compared to the same period of 2025. From the total of foreigners that left the country, 52.3% were men and 47.7% were women.
Exit of Peruvians abroad increased by 4.0%
During the period January-March of 2026, the total of exit movements of Peruvians abroad totalized 1 153 460, which represented a growth of 4.0% compared to the same period of the last year. By sex, 50.7% of Peruvians that left the country were women and 49.3% were men.
60.2% of Peruvian that left the country are between 30 to 59 years old
According to age group, 60.2% of Peruvians that left the country were between 30 to 59 years old, 19.4% are between 15 to 29 years old, 14.3% are older adults of 60 years old and older; and 6.1% are underage of 15 years old.
55.7% of the exits of Peruvians abroad were registered in the Jorge Chavez International Airport checkpoint
During the first quarter of 2026, 55.7% of the total of exits of Peruvians was registered in the Migratory Checkpoint of the Jorge Chavez International Airport, followed by Santa Rosa in Tacna with 30.2%; both checkpoints concentrated the 85.9% of the international exists of Peruvians.
Total migratory flow in Peru increased by 3.2%
During the period January-February-March of 2026, the total migratory Flow of entries and exits of Peruvians and foreigners totalized 4 412 153 movements, greater in 3.2% compared to the same period of 2025. This result is explained by the high flow of entries (3.5%) and exits (2.9%) of Peruvians and foreigners.
