INEI receives recognition of good practices of the 2025 multisectoral commissions

The chief of the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI), Dr. Gaspar Morán Flores, received the award of good practices from the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) as recognition to the work of the Multisectoral Commission of the 2025 National Censuses: XIII of Population, VIII of Housing and IV of Indigenous Communities, which was in charge of carry out activities and of proposing measurements that allowed the development and success of this important statistical activity.

In a ceremony held at the PCM headquarters, the highest authority of the INEI received the mentioned recognition in behalf of all the representatives of the institutions that make up this work team.


Hybrid meetings strengthen the participation of its members
This recognition was mainly awarded by the implementation of hybrid meetings that strengthen the participation and the operative continuity of the commission in the development of the 2025 National Censuses, which improved the frequency of the meetings, the attendance of its members, the internal management, the fulfillment of objectives and the fulfillment of functions.


Hybrid meetings (on-site and virtual) were established before the difficulties presented for the participation of all the members of this work group, due to the overlapping of institutional agendas and the recurrent changes of designed representatives by the constituent entities.
In the presence of this, this type of meetings allowed to combine the physical with the virtual participation through the use of digital platforms, making easy the intervention of representatives of different public entities, without geographic restriction or limitations of institutional agenda.


The results of the implementation of this practice were positive and it was achieved the increase in the effective participation of the representatives of the constituent entities of the commission, improve in the frequency and continuity of the meetings, greater opportunity in the decision-making and in the monitoring of agreements and strengthen of the interinstitutional coordination, key aspect for the development of activities linked to the 2025 National Censuses.


Guidelines of all the census process were defined
Dr. Gaspar Morán outstood the labor of the Multisectoral Commission by establishing the guidelines of all the census process, which meant an historic milestone by being the first in being performed within three months and 100% digital, with the support of tablets for the collection of information.


Multisectoral Commission of the 2025 National Censuses was chaired by Dr. Gaspar Morán and the Technical Secretary was in charge of the INEI National Census and Surveys Direction, the same that offered technical and administrative support to its members for the fulfillment of its functions.


In addition, it was made up by the representatives of the entities of the public sector, the Association of Municipalities of Peru and the Interinstitutional Technical Committee on Ethnicity Statistics.
