98.4% of the households of Lima Metropolitan area have mobile telephone during the fourth quarter of 2025

During the fourth quarter of 2025, in the households of Lima Metropolitan area, the mobile telephone reached a coverage of 98.4% and a growth of 1.4 percentage points, compared to the same quarter of the year 2024 (97.0%). This informed by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) in the technical report Statistics of the Information and Communication Technologies in the Households, prepared with the results of the National Household Survey (ENAHO).
In addition, informed that households of the country registered a coverage of 95.7%, registering an increase of 0.6 percentage point, compared to the same quarter of the last year (95.1%). In the rest urban area registered a progress of 97.0% and in the rural area of 88.1%.
According to education level reached, in the households which head of households studied non-university superior education level, this service reached 99.7%; in which those that reached university superior education level was of 99.2%; followed by the households with household chiefs with secondary education level (98.2%) and those that have primary or lower education level (88.9%).
Population of 6 years old and older that uses the Internet increased from 80.1% to 82.0%
During the last quarter of 2025, 82.0% of the country’s population of 6 years old and older used the Internet. Compared to the same period of the year 2024 increased in 1.9 percentage points, by positively varying from 80.1% to 82.0%.
By residence area, 90.3% was the greater level of use of Internet registered in Lima Metropolitan followed by the urban area with 84.4% and the rural area with 59.6%. By comparing these results obtained during the fourth quarter of 2024, the greater growth was observed in the rural area, with an increase of 2.9 percentage points, followed by Lima Metropolitan area with 2.1 percentage points and in the rest urban area with a positive variation of 0.9 percentage point.
89.2% of the population that uses the Internet of 6 years old and older used the Internet through the cellphone
During the last quarter of 2025, 89.2% of the Internet user population of 6 years old and older do it through a cellphone (with or without data plan). By residence area, the greater coverage was registered in Lima Metropolitan area (91.0%), followed by the rural area (88.4%) and in the rest urban area (87.9%).
60.1% of the households of the country had Internet service
During the fourth quarter of 2025, 60.1% of the households of the country had Internet service and meant a growth of 1.7 percentage points, compared to the same quarter of the last year (58.4%).
According to residence area, the greater coverage was registered in the households of Lima Metropolitan area (78.2%), followed by the rest urban area (63.1%) and of the households of the rural area (23.4%); registering increases for the rest urban area of 3.4 percentage points and in the rural area of 1.7 percentage points.
71.1% of those that use computers or Laptops, apply calculation formulas in spreadsheet cells
During the fourth quarter of 2025, from the total of the population of 15 years old and older that performed some informatic activity through a computer, laptop, Tablet or similar, 94.7% copied and move files or folders, 93.3% used the functions of copy or paste information within a document, and 86.7% send e-mails with attached files.
Likewise, 74.7% of the population group created electronic presentations using specific software, 71.1% applied simple arithmetic formulas in spreadsheets, 69.6% transferred files between computers and other devices and 58.3% connected and set up new devices.
On the other hand, by reviewing the activities that require a higher level of digital skills, 47.4% unloaded, set up and configured a new software and 11.6% wrote computer programs using languages of specialized programs.
27.7% of the households of the country has paid TV
According to the results of the National Household Survey (ENAHO), 27.7% of the country’s households reported that they have access to cable television, during the fourth quarter of 2025. By residence area, 41.8% of the households in Lima Metropolitan area had this service, followed by the rest urban area (25.7%) and in the rural area 9.5% accessed to this service.
