Fishing sector grew 6.37% in September of 2025

The National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) informed that during the month of September of 2025, the Fishing sector increased by 6.37% compared to the same month of the last year, based in the greater capture of species of maritime origin (14.11%), mainly of resources for direct human consumption 14.33%, of species intended to the preparation of canning (91.3%), consumption in fresh state (18.5%) and for frozen (9.1%); nevertheless, it reduced those intended for preparation of curing (-58.1%).
In the technical report Conjuncture Progress of Economic Activity is stated that during the month under analysis was not registered capture of species intended to indirect human consumption (anchovy for fishmeal and fish oil), explained by the closed season of anchovy. On the other hand, the fishing of continental origin was lower (-25.39%), influenced by the low extraction of species for consumption in fresh state (-22.3%), for frozen (-38.0%) and for preparation of curing (-40.4%).
Mining and hydrocarbons production increased 1.86%
During the month of September of 2025, the Mining and Hydrocarbons increased by 1.86% compared to the same month of 2024, due to the positive behavior of the metal-mining subsector (2.02%), explained by the greater production of zinc by 25.5%, copper 3.2%, silver 11.3%, lead 18.7% and tin by 13.4%; meanwhile, it reduced the molybdenum -27.3%, gold -1.0% and iron -0.3% production. Meanwhile, the hydrocarbons subsector grew by 0.78% due to the greater volume of exploitation of crude oil by 21.8%, in spite of the reduction in the production of natural gas by -6.7% and of liquids of natural gas by -3.8%.
Domestic cement consumption grew by 11.12%
During the nineth month of the year, the domestic cement consumption registered the highest rate so far this year (11.12%) explained by the increase of private works. During the period of January – September 2025 it increased 5.68%, compares to the same period of 2024.
Electricity subsector increased 2.09%
During the month under analysis, the electricity subsector registered a growth of 2.09%, explained by the positive performance in the generation of energies of hydroelectric origin (7.86%) and of wind-solar renewable origin energies (17.20%); nevertheless, the thermoelectric origin energy decreased (-5.16%).
Among the main companies that registered a growth in its production were: Chinango, Empresa de Generación Huallaga, Empresa de Generación Huanza, Compañía Eléctrica El Platanal (Celepsa), Empresa de Generación Eléctrica de Arequipa, Electroperú, Empresa de Generación Eléctrica Machupicchu, Empresa de Generación Eléctrica San Gabán, Orygen Perú, Inland Energy and Kallpa Generación.
On the other hand, the production of the following companies decreased: Fénix Power Perú, Statkraft Perú, Termochilca, Engie Energía Perú, Energía Renovable del Sur, Parque Eólico Tres Hermanas, Orazul Energy Perú, among others.
Consumption credits increased 11.51%
During the month of September of 2025, the consumption credits reached S/ 77,869 million, which represented an increase of 11.51% compared to the same month of the last year.
On the other hand, the mortgage credits during September reached S/ 70,027 million, a higher figure by 6.54% compared to the reached during the month of September of 2024; and to the credits granted to big, medium, small and micro-enterprises that totalized S/ 218,787 million, a higher result by 2.75% compared to the same month of the last year.
Meanwhile, during September of 2025, the placement of credit cards of the multiple banking reached 6,708 thousand units, which represented an increase of 7.53% compared to the same month of 2024.
Total imported amount increased by 8.47%
According to the information available as of October 26th of 2025, the total amount of imports during the month of September of the current year reached US$ 4,961 million and represented a growth of 8.47% compared to the registered in the same month of 2024.
Meanwhile, the imported amount of consumption goods totalized US$ 1,175 million, result that represented a progress of 10.21%, compared to the value registered in the same month of 2024. The import of raw materials and intermediate products reached US$ 2,250 million, achieving an increase of 5.77%; and the import of capital goods and construction materials (US$ 1,532 million) grew 11.30% compared to the same month of September of 2024.
