Thank you very much to all who joined us in the briefing "Saving lives in a Pandemic: a UK-Perú success story", organized in collaboration with UCL and IMET2000.  For more information regarding on how to make donations, please contact us to:

You can watch this briefing on our YouTube channel, in which we shared a fast and effective way to help Peru save lives in this stage of COVID.

As we mention, last year UCL engineers helped Peru by sharing with Peruvian colleagues the designs and manufacturing instructions of very effective, easy-to-use and low-cost respiratory devices, which are currently used in British hospitals to prevent patients from entering ICUs and being connected to respirators.
This devices helps keep Covid-19 patients out of intensive care, by connecting them to the oxygen plants of hospitals, providing patients with a high-pressure pumping system that allows them to breathe more easily when oxygen via a face mask alone is insufficient (https://www.facebook.com/wayrachi).

Thank you!

SAVING LIVES IN A PANDEMIC: A UK-PERU SUCCESS STORY

The Embassy of Peru and University College of London (UCL) invite you to a briefing, to be held on Thursday 11th of February, at 4 pm BST, in which we will share a fast and effective way to help Peru save lives in this stage of COVID.

Last year, UCL engineers helped Peru by sharing with Peruvian colleagues the designs and manufacturing instructions of very effective, easy-to-use and low-cost respiratory devices, which are currently used in British hospitals to prevent patients from entering ICUs and being connected to respirators.

These breathing aids are known as the UCL Ventura CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) devices and have been successfully manufactured in Peru under the name of “Wayrachi” (https://www.facebook.com/wayrachi), helping protect many lives.

The Wayrachi helps keep Covid-19 patients out of intensive care, by connecting them to the oxygen plants of hospitals, providing patients with a high-pressure pumping system that allows them to breathe more easily when oxygen via a face mask alone is insufficient.

Although the CPAPs can be produced in Peru, they need breathing circuits that cannot be manufactured nor are available in the country.

This briefing, expected to last 30 minutes, will provide information on this successful collaboration and the current needs. Please confirm your attendance to the following mail and we will send you the link:
